Jews witness that Abdullah Bin Salam is the their rabbi, the son of their rabbi, their master and the son of their master. The glad tidings that he found in the Turah had their great impact on him to adapt Islam though he was expecting his people to go against him. These tidings confirm the coming of the prophet Mohammad may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him(PBUH).
While Abdullah bin Salam was on the top of a palm to pick its dates, at Madenah , he heard some noise and asked, what was this? They replayed, Prophet Mohammad - may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him- had came. (He immigrated from Makah to Madenadh). After that, Abdullah jumped from the palm tree and went to meet the messenger of Allah.{ Mjgma'a Al-Zawed 8/243}
Then, Abdullah declared, "when I contemplated his face, I knew that he was not a liar. He added, the first thing I heard from him was, (if you spread Asslam[1] ,feed the poor people, pray at night[2], visit Alarham (your relatives), you will gain the paradise peacefully.) {narrated by Imam Ahmad 5\451}.
After that, he returned to his mother who was wondering by saying, even if this prophet was Moses himself, you should not do your action by throwing down yourself from the palm ! But he said, "I am more happier with the coming of the prophet Mohammed than the coming of the prophet Moses." { Al-Hythami said, narrated by Atabarani and his men are trusted but Hamza Bin Yousef didn't meet Abduallah Bin Salam, Majma'a al- Zwaed 8/243}
In another story narrated by Ishaq, Abdullah Bin Salam said to his aunt Khaledah, "my aunt, I swear by Allah that he is –pointing to the prophet Mohammad -PBUH- the brother of Moses Bin Imran and carrying the same belief". Then she said, "O my nephew, is he the same prophet that we had told he would be sent nearly at the end of the world? He replayed, yes { Bin Ishsq in Bin Hesham autobiography 3/50}.
After that, he came to the prophet Mohammad PBUH and said, "I will ask you about three things that are only known by a prophet" .
What is the first sign of The Hour? ,What is the first thing people of the Paradise eat?, and what makes an infant resembling his/her father or mother?
The prophet Mohammed- PBUH- said, ( Jibrael told me them formerly). But Abdullah shocked, Jibrael ?! ( yes) the prophet Mohammad- PBUH- answered him. Then, Abdullah said, that this Angel is the Jews' enemy.
Then the prophet recited, { Say (O Muhammad, to mankind): Who is an enemy to Gabriel! For he it is who has revealed (this Scripture, the Quran) to your heart by Allah's leave. Furthermore, he added, {the first indication is a fire gathers people from the east to the west. Also, a piece from whale's liver is the first thing the people of Paradise eat. Moreover, if the male's sperm precedes the female's sperm, the baby will resemble his/her father, and if the female's sperm precedes the male's sperm, the baby will resemble his/her mother.[3] }
After all, Abdullah said, "I bear witness that there is no God but Allah and you are the messenger of Allah".
He added, O messenger of Allah, you knew that the Jews are lairs and if they know that I adopt Islam before asking them to do that, they will accuse me of lying.
Then, The Jews came and the prophet -PBUH- asked them, (what is the rank of Abdullah Bin Salam among you?)
They said, "he is the best of us, the son of the best of us, our master, and the son of our master { Al-Bokary adds, they said also, the most knowledgeable and the son of the most knowledgeable - al-Bokary Hadeeth 3621}. However, the prophet replied, even if Abdullah Bin Salam has adopted Islam? ) they said, we seek refuge of Allah if he did that. Within that, Abdullah came to them and said, "I bear witness that there is no God but Allah and Mohammad is the messenger of Allah". Angrily, they detracted from him and said, "you are the evilest and the son of the evilest". But Abdullah Bin Salam said, "O messenger of Allah ,this is what I am afraid of". { narrated by al- Imam Bokary Hadeeth 4215-3699} in another story, he said, "O assembly of Jews ! Be afraid of Allah who I bear witness that there is no God but him; you know that this prophet is the messenger of Allah and he has brought the truth."{ narrated by Imam Al-Bokary Hadeeth 3621}
[1] It is Islamic greeting means,( greeting with peace )
[2] Night's prayer is Nafellah which means ( prying at night and resist sleeping ) . It is optional practice of worship which has great reward from Allah.
[3] In light of this, there are two possibilities that can occur during fertilisation between male and female gametes, XX and XY. Since sperm are the variable factor (i.e. which sperm fertilises the egg) they are responsible for determining sex.
